Mr. Ronald L. Logsdon – Executive Director
Ronald L. Logsdon has been executive director of Audubon Area
Community Services since its inception in 1975. AACS is the largest
Community Action Agency in Kentucky, providing services that help develop
human potential and lift families from poverty. GRITS is one of those
services. He previously had served as executive director of the
four-county Owensboro parent agency since 1971 and has been a pastor and
social worker.. A native of Kentucky, he graduated in 1965 from William
Carey College, Hattiesburg, Miss., and attended the Southern Baptist
Theological Seminary in Louisville.
In the mid-1980s, Logsdon helped organize Leadership Kentucky
and Leadership West Kentucky in 1998. He has served as executive director
and chairman of Leadership Owensboro. In September 1987, he received
from then-governor Martha Layne Collins Owensboro’s and Kentucky’s first Distinguished
Leadership Award of the National Community Leadership Organizations. In
1987-88, he was governor of the 9,000-member Kentucky-Tennessee District of
Kiwanis, named under his leadership as an Honor District, one of only five
worldwide. In 1988, he helped organize and plan Kiwanis International’s
continuing global service program, Young Children: PRIORITY ONE, and
later served as international chairman for Kiwanis International’s
committee overseeing that children’s program. Since 1990, he has served as
chairman of three Kiwanis International committees.
In April 1993,
he was the recipient of the Southeast Region DHHS, Administration for Children
and Families’ Regional Administrator’s Leadership Award. Today, he
oversees a statewide staff of more than 800 and a budget that exceeds $60
million
